The LG Nexus with Android 4.1.2?

LG Thoughts

I waited a few days to see if anything else more concrete came out about the the rumored LG Nexus but it has not so here are my thoughts on the LG Nexus so far.
Android 4.1.2:

4.1.2 is only a minor update over 4.1.1 and includes mainly bug fixes instead of features but it does have two big "fixes".
  • Combined with an update to the Google Contacts website now you can have nice big and high resolution contact photos.
  • The Nexus 7 homescreen can now be rotated into landscape mode although it is still the hybrid UI so all that happens is the icons rotate.
The LG Nexus?

Who knows if this phone leaked from a guy in Belarus even is a Nexus but if it is then the opinion is very split between the likers and the haters of this LG Nexus and its rumored spec sheet.

The Looks:

The shape of the phone is very similar to the Galaxy Nexus although it is missing the curved screen of the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus S.
The opinion on the back cover is very split but I actually quite like the speckled back on the phone as it reminds me of digital camo a little bit although most people seem to disagree.

The Specs:

  • S4 Quad Core processor
  • IPS Screen
  • 2GB RAM
  • 8GB Storage
  • Maybe no notification light?
My thoughts overall:

I'm not sure why LG would have gotten the contract for the Nexus but the device looks OK and since most LG complaints are about updates and the skin LG make which won't be an issue on a Nexus device.

8GB Storage does seem quite low and I'm sure Google learnt from the complaints about even the 16GB Nexus 7 so I'm guessing the 8GB model is either only for the prototype device or will be sold for a low price like the Nexus 7.

I really hope the notification light is there because it is a very useful feature and I can't see how an alternative would be made for the phone since it only has virtual buttons meaning backlight notifications on buttons would also not be available.

More Nexii?

This would make it seem like this is the only Nexus phone this year but maybe there are more and the companies (like Sony or Samsung) are just better at keeping it a secret. It does seem unlikely that Samsung have a Nexus device though as the rumored the device rumored to be the 2nd Galaxy Nexus has been unveiled as the Galaxy Premier by Samsung.
