The new Nexus family running Android 4.2

Nexus thoughts

LG Nexus 4: (Google page, GSMArena)

  • Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait Snapdragon
  • Adreno 320 GPU
  • 4.7" 1280x768 True HD IPS+ screen
  • 2GB RAM
I wasn't completely sure about the Nexus 4 from the leak images but after seeing it in the video embedded below and in official photos it looks beautiful.

The specs are pretty much stuff we all knew from the various leaks recently but its still nice to see the powerful specs are real and Google have gone for another low price point for a high end device. I'm just hoping re-sellers in Ireland don't just say screw it and charge €500-600 for the Nexus 4 on release. In an ideal world Google would announce tomorrow that Google Play devices was launching in Ireland.

Asus Nexus 7 32GB and 3G: (Google page, GSMArena / 3G Version)

I have already reviewed the wonderful Nexus 7 here if you are interested in a detailed look at my thoughts on the little Nexus tablet.

I will be getting a 32GB WiFi model of the Nexus 7 because I don't need it to have 3G as I can tether it to my Nexus S if I am somewhere that I want to use it but do not actually have WiFi so whats the point of spending more on the device and even more on a separate data plan for the tablet?

Samsung Nexus 10: (Google page, GSMArena)

  • Dual-core 1.7 GHz Exynos 5250
  • Mali-T604 GPU
  • 10" 2560x1600 TFT screen
  • 2GB RAM

The Nexus 10 was probably the device I was least expecting from the Nexus announcements this year since the Nexus 7 has not been out for long.

The screen on the Nexus 10 looks amazing at 2560x1600 pixels and the specs are very good too (uses some SoC as the Samsung ARM Chromebook). The price is incredibly competitive for the specs too (particularly the screen).
